Influences / Inspiration of Peter Graham

The medieval masons of English and French churches, especially the Romanesque master carvers of Moissac and Souillac are a big influence. The British sculpture of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth clearly inform a lot of Peter`s work as well as the work of Constantine Brancusi.
The classical carving of the Greek masters such as Phidias and Praxiteles cannot be ignored. The scientific drawings recording of Robert Hooke in his Micrographia and Leonardo`s nature studies are a wonderful source of inspiration.
